5 Point Plus Anti Escape System
Do you have a little houdini who escapes from the car seat harness? The 5 point plus is a fully crash tested product that is easy to fit and comfortable for the little one. Many car seat manufacturers also recommend it for their products.
Children often escape the 5 point harness by exploiting the gap between the buckle and their tummy - the 5 point plus safely covers this gap, preventing children from getting their arms out.
Made of a lightweight fabric and compatible with most car seats, little one won't get hot with the 5 point plus, and it will help to keep their arms in the harness.
Other things you can do to prevent your child escaping the harness:
1) Remove any thick, bulky or puffy clothing, as this causes the harness to not fit tightly to your little one, which makes it easier to remove.
2) Ensure the straps are at the correct height - your car seat instruction manual will tell you where to position your harness. As a general rule of thumb, the straps must be level across the top of your child's shoulders - they can dip slightly below when rear facing, or be slightly above when forward facing. If the harness is too low on your little one, it will encourage them to take the straps off, as it will be uncomfortable pressing down on their shoulders.
3) Check the harness has been pulled tight enough - you should not be able to pinch the webbing from top to bottom on the harness, and you should be able to slip two fingers flat between your child and the straps at collar bone level.
